Irish Rovers is a charity that aims to "Change Perceptions" and challenges you to "Make a Difference" to the lives of Ethiopian children.

Change Perceptions
Perceptions that many may have of Ethiopia, its people and culture and also that Ethiopians have of us and Our Wee Country can often be well "wide of the mark". Irish Rovers have experienced interaction on a very personal level, to achieve a common purpose, maybe this is the best way to challenge and Change Perceptions.

Make a Difference
Although much development is taking place within Ethiopia, poverty is still a major issue. We can't help all 75million Ethiopians, but this is no reason for not helping. Through our ongoing work we are making a real difference to the lives of at least some ordinary people and in particular - children.
You too can Make a Real Difference to the lives of individuals and communities, with relatively small amounts of money. For more details check out Work in Ethiopia on this site

Football - The Beautiful Game
The love of football is a common bond throughout many countries and cultures and no more true in Ethiopia, where soccer is a national passion (on a par with long distance running). Premier League games are shown daily and our stars are their stars. The love we Irish Rovers have for the Beautiful Game is a love we have found in abundance in Ethiopia

What we do
The Irish Rovers are a registered charity run entirely by a few volunteer coaches & supporters. We raise funds to help Ethiopian children and deliver support directly to Ethiopia. We utilise support from individuals, Schools, Corporate Bodies and look to off-set costs via Sponsorship, so that that funds raised go directly to Ethiopia, without deduction.
